Our Journey so far

OURIA was founded in 2022 based on a strong and clear vision to make a difference in the Natural Gas to Agribusiness value chain. Forged together by a strong bond of mutual respect and commitment to key values enshrined in our mission statement; our shareholders challenged themselves with the mantra – “Everything is possible”. If not now, when? If not us, who? Questions that gave birth to the discussions and actions that resulted in the launch of Ouria Fertilizer Ltd. Since our incorporation, the Management Team has worked tirelessly to establish and set up a solid foundation for a small-scale Urea Fertilizer Manufacturing Plant in Nigeria (Project Ouria). Project Ouria is at a mature development planning & fundraise stage for the design, build and commissioning of a small-scale Natural Gas to Urea modular plant based on a “ex-factory business model” with a nameplate daily production capacity of 100 MTPD (metric tons per day). The planned annual Urea production is 35,000 metric tons.

Production and annual sales of 35,000 MT of urea fertilizer is tentatively committed to various off-takers, located in the Northwest and Southeast regions of Nigeria. The project will employ 40 people when operational and contribute to the taxable revenue base of the Federal Government of Nigeria. The first delivery of our Urea fertilizer is planned for 2025.

Our achievements to date include:

(1) securing (subject to contract) a reliable source of feed gas for the 100 MTPD modular urea fertilizer plant;

(2) securing (subject to contract) land sale & purchase commitments for the plant premises;

(3) completed proof of concept with the signature of product offtake commitment letters from credible customers;

(4) completed high-level pre-FEED model design for the plant  a reliable source of feed gas for the 100 MTPD modular urea fertilizer plant;

(5) secured post-FID funding (Final Investment Decision from an Investment & Asset Management Company, conditional upon the promoters securing Pre-FID funding of US$1.6M (or equivalent) to cover detailed FEED, EIA, Soil Analysis, Civil Works design for plant; and market and financial feasibility studies by one of the big 4 Consulting firms to confirm investment viability;

(6) set up an Agribusiness  Knowledge Center delivering knowledge enhancement & training courses, workshops, seminars and the development of pedagogical material for adult learning & capacity building.

Our Feedgas Requirements

  • Reserve Capacity: 0.5 – 1 Tcf per field/bundle.
  • Offtake volumes: 3 mmscf/day per 100 MTPD modular Urea Fertilizer Manufacturing plant.
  • Fields with > 20 years of verifiable flows.
  • Outlet gas pressure: Ideally, 3-8+ bar.g.
  • No large amounts of contaminants.
  • Gas composition – preferably dry & sweet. Ideally, gas composition statistics should indicate a high methane rate and good propane/butane extraction rates.
  • Feed Gas source (ideally) should be inland or close to the shore as maritime transport will provide the backbone of our feedstock gas logistical solution.

FEEDGAS OFFTAKE ADVANTAGES

  • Flare reduction for the operator.
  • Turnover/volume increases for an established Gas Plant franchisee.
  • In the case of flares, monetization of a currently wasted commodity.
  • Modular approach adapts to many high-value product scenarios.
  • Technology can be redeployed to different field locations.
  • Flagship project for both Operator, Gas Plant franchisee & Project Promoter (OURIA).
  • In the case of flares, avoids heavy sanctions/fines from Government if no action is taken and flaring continues.
